1976 Volkswagen T2 | Coventry, Warwickshire

The Volkswagen T2, known as the Bay Window for its broad, curved one-piece windscreen, is the second-generation Type 2 van. It is liked for its rounded body, large expanse of glass and rear-mounted air-cooled engine, and it carries the look of 1960s and 1970s group travel. This one is orange with a black interior, a warm colour that stands out against greenery, brick or a grey sky. It has a 1.8-litre petrol engine and seats four. The upright body and wide windows give a crew plenty of angles to shoot from. Advertising, photography and fashion shoots can use the colour and the glass, while film, TV and music video work set in the 1970s gets a period shape without dressing. At events it makes a bright focal point. A wedding or personal hire gets the same cheerful presence. The car is based in Coventry, West Midlands.
