About this vehicle
1969 Volkswagen T2 | Canterbury, Kent
A 1969 Volkswagen T2, the Bay Window Type 2 named for its curved one-piece windscreen. It became linked with 1960s and 1970s counterculture and brightly painted vans, and its rounded body and broad glass still read as period at a glance. This Early Bay is finished in beige, with a Union Jack bench seat upholstered in maroon and cream. The cabin seats five, and the 1600cc air-cooled engine sits at the rear, as the model always had it. Condition is excellent. The soft beige body and bold seat give photography, fashion and editorial shoots a warm palette against coastal or rural backdrops. Film and TV productions set in the late 1960s get a van of exactly the right year, and the large windows leave room to work in and around it. Music videos and events gain a relaxed, bohemian look, and weddings and personal hires take to it the same way. The van is based in Canterbury, Kent.
