1970 Volkswagen Camper T2 Bay | Chester, Cheshire

A 1970 Volkswagen Camper T2 Bay, the second-generation Type 2 known as the Bay Window for its curved one-piece windscreen. The rounded body, generous glass and rear-mounted air-cooled engine made it a favourite for camper conversions, and it is still linked with the relaxed travel culture of the 1960s and 1970s. This camper is Blue with a Beige interior, restored and in excellent condition, with a 1641cc engine and room for four. It is left-hand drive: the driver sits on the kerb side, which gives it a continental look, and the front passenger steps out on the road side. The large windows and soft, rounded lines suit period film and TV, photography, and fashion and editorial shoots, since the interior shows through the glass and the Blue paint reads clearly against most backdrops. At events it gives guests a friendly focal point. It also works for weddings and personal hires. The van is based in Chester, Cheshire.
