1967 Volkswagen Type 2 Split screen Camper | Northampton, Northamptonshire

A 1967 Volkswagen Type 2 Split screen Camper, the forward-control van with a divided windscreen and an air-cooled engine at the back. It is known for its friendly, upright shape and for its place in 1960s counterculture, when painted vans became part of the festival and road-trip scene. This one is blue outside with a cream interior, a soft pairing that sits well against greenery, brick or a seafront. Condition is very good, and it seats five. The driver sits above the front wheels behind a flat nose, which gives the van a strong face in front of a lens. The split windscreen and tall, flat-fronted profile suit 1960s-set film and TV, period advertising, photography and fashion shoots. Music video and event sets get an easy road-trip mood from it. Weddings and personal hires gain a characterful arrival. The van is based in Milton Keynes, Northamptonshire.
