1973 Volkswagen Beetle | Puckeridge and Standon, Hertfordshire

A 1973 Volkswagen Beetle, the rounded, rear-engined small car known for its friendly shape and its place in 1960s advertising and cinema. Herbie the Love Bug made the model a screen favourite, and the outline still reads at once in a frame. This car is blue outside and blue inside, a single-colour scheme that keeps attention on the curves. It has a 1.6-litre engine, two wide doors and four seats. The larger windows of the later Beetles let light into the cabin, which helps for interior shots and for people filmed from outside. That shape and light suit period film and TV work set in the 1970s, advertising, photography and music videos, and its cheerful looks give events a clear vintage touch. It also makes a warm choice for a wedding or a personal occasion. The car is based in Puckeridge and Standon, Hertfordshire.
