About this vehicle
1935 Rolls-Royce Phantom 11 | Poole, Dorset
A 1935 Rolls-Royce Phantom II, the last of the marque's 40/50 hp models. Its low chassis and set-back radiator gave coachbuilders room to shape long, flowing bodies, and it carries a large straight-six engine. A Phantom II is also the central car in the 1964 film The Yellow Rolls-Royce. This car is grey with a maroon interior, a restrained pairing that sits well against stone, brick or gravel. The 7.7-litre engine gives it the scale of a pre-war Rolls-Royce, and the cabin seats five, so a small group can arrive together in period style. Period film and television work gains a car that sets a 1930s scene before any dressing is added. Photography, fashion and editorial shoots gain formal proportions and a deep, quiet colour scheme, and events gain a centrepiece with real presence on a forecourt or drive. It also makes a dignified car for a wedding or landmark celebration. The car is based in Southampton, Dorset.
