1982 Austin Mini HLE | Coventry, Warwickshire

A 1982 Austin Mini HLE, from the later years of the classic Mini. The model is liked for its small size and eager, close-to-the-road handling, both helped by front-wheel drive. The Mini 1000 driven by Mr Bean came from the same generation. This car is yellow with a black interior, a bright body against dark trim that gives the camera a clear, simple subject. A 998cc engine sits under the bonnet. The compact body fits easily into tight locations and leaves plenty of the setting visible in frame. Its rounded, period shape gives advertising and photography a clear focal point, and suits film and television work set in Britain in the 1970s or 1980s. Fashion and editorial stylists can use the yellow as a colour accent, and events gain a small, cheerful car to dress around. It also makes a bright wedding arrival or personal hire. The car is based in Coventry, Warwickshire.
