2002 Austin Mini Cooper | Onllwyn, East Sussex

This is a 2002 MINI Cooper from the first BMW-era Mini, the revival that paired retro looks with agile handling. Its cabin picks up the original's cues, with a central speedometer and toggle switches. The Cooper carries more chrome than the entry-level One. This car is yellow with a black interior, so a bright body sits against a dark cabin. Its 1.6-litre engine suits the compact three-door shape, and the short length makes it easy to place in a street scene or a tight location. Advertising, fashion and editorial shoots, music videos and 2000s-set film and TV get a colour that reads clearly against most backdrops, while the toggle-switch dashboard gives close-up shots something to focus on. Weddings and birthday outings also suit it, as a cheerful arrival car. It is based in East Sussex.
