1991 Volkswagen Golf | Swansea

The Volkswagen Golf Mk2 is the second-generation Golf, a hatchback that kept the original's proportions but gave it a longer, more rounded body. It won What Car? Car of the Year for 1985 and became a familiar part of 1980s and early-1990s streets. This 1991 car is blue with a grey interior. Its upright, squared-off shape gives clean lines in front of the camera and leaves room in shot for the location. That suits photography, fashion and editorial shoots, and adverts or music videos wanting an everyday hatchback from the turn of the 1990s. On film and TV sets of the period, it reads as an ordinary family car. A wedding or personal hire gets a friendly, unfussy car with easy access. It is based in Swansea.
