1972 Volkswagen Bus | Edenbridge, Kent

A 1972 Volkswagen Bus from the bay-window generation of the Type 2, the van with a single-piece curved windscreen, a flat face and a tall, friendly shape. Its air-cooled engine sits behind the passengers, and the model is closely linked with the counterculture of the 1960s and 1970s. This one is green with an orange interior, a warm early-1970s pairing that reads clearly on camera. The tall body and big windows give a photographer room to work inside as well as out, and it seats five. Period film and TV and music video work gain from the upright shape and the colour pairing, which place a scene in the early 1970s. Advertising and fashion and editorial shoots can use the large windows and bright interior, and events get a van with a clear period look. Weddings and personal hires work too, with the curved windscreen as a detail to frame. The Bus is based in Edenbridge, Kent.
