About this vehicle
1966 Singer Vogue | Coventry, West Midlands
A 1966 Singer Vogue, the upmarket Rootes saloon built on the Hillman Super Minx. Singer gave it twin headlamps and richer trim than its Hillman cousin, and over its run the Vogue gained front disc brakes and six-light bodywork. It was Rootes's way of keeping Singer as the smarter badge in the family. This car is blue with a black interior, a quiet pairing that lets the upright saloon outline do the talking. Its 1725cc engine is the larger unit fitted to later Vogues, and the four-door body gives a clear, familiar family-car profile from every angle. Film and television work gets a believable British family car of the 1960s. Photographers and advertising crews have a solid blue body that reads cleanly in stills, and period events gain a car that suits the setting. Weddings and personal hires are welcome too. The car is based in Coventry, in the West Midlands.
