About this vehicle
1964 Singer Gazelle | Lowestoft, Suffolk
The Singer Gazelle was a Rootes Group family saloon, a close relative of the Hillman Minx with its own upright grille, extra chrome and a walnut fascia. It was a familiar family car of the 1950s and 1960s. The last Gazelle, built in 1970, was also the last Singer made. This car is finished in silver with a black interior, a calm pairing that leaves the chrome and the Singer grille to catch the light. Its upright, tidy body keeps the shape simple and easy to read in frame. Photography, fashion and editorial shoots get a clear early-1960s backdrop, and silver sits well against both town streets and the Suffolk coast. Film and TV productions set in the 1960s can use it as everyday family transport, while advertising and events gain the same period detail. A couple will find it a relaxed, sociable wedding car. It is based in Lowestoft, Suffolk.
