1973 Volkswagen Beetle 1303 | Witham, Essex

A 1973 Volkswagen Beetle 1303, the rounded, rear-engined small car that grew from a people's car into a 1960s counter-culture favourite and a regular in adverts and cinema. The 1303 is the Super Beetle version, set apart from earlier cars by the curved windscreen introduced in August 1972. This car is Yellow with a black interior, fully restored and in very good condition. The paint stands out against a grey street or a green location, and the domed roof and rounded wings give a clean outline. The 1200cc air-cooled engine sits at the rear, leaving the front end short and uncluttered. A bright period car like this works for advertising, photography and fashion or editorial shoots, where the yellow and the black interior give strong colour in close and wide frames. Its early 1970s look suits music videos and period film and TV. It has five seats and brings cheer to weddings and personal hires. The car is based in Witham, Essex.
