1991 Nissan Figaro | Southampton, Dorset

The Nissan Figaro is a small Japanese convertible built on Micra underpinnings and styled to look decades older than it is. Round lamps, chrome trim and a softly curved body give it a nostalgic charm that has won it a loyal following in Britain. This 1991 car is finished in green with a beige interior, a gentle pairing that looks warm on camera. It seats four, and the roof folds away on a solid panel while the upper side bodywork stays in place, so the cabin opens to the sky without losing its shape. Its retro lines and colour suit photography, fashion and editorial shoots, and music videos, where a compact period-styled car adds character and leaves room for the setting. In film and TV it can set a light, nostalgic tone. Weddings and personal hires suit it equally well. The car is based in Southampton, Dorset.
