1991 Nissan Figaro | Shrewsbury, Shropshire

The Nissan Figaro is a small Japanese retro convertible, built on the Micra's underpinnings. It is liked for its round lamps, chrome trim and Art Deco-influenced styling, and for a turbocharged engine in a very compact body. This car is orange with a cream interior, a warm pairing that stands out against green parks, brick and stone. The fixed-profile roof retracts under a solid rear panel while the upper side bodywork stays in place, so the cabin feels framed with the roof down. It seats four. Photography, fashion and editorial shoots get a period feel from the rounded shape and chrome detail. Advertising and music video work can use the bright colour and open cabin, and events gain from a small footprint that leaves room around it in shot. Weddings and proms suit it for arrivals and portraits. The car is based in Birmingham, Shropshire.
