About this vehicle
1969 Morris Traveller | London
The Morris Traveller is the Minor estate with an exposed ash frame around its rear body. The timber sits over aluminium panels, and the back opens through two vertically split doors. It became a familiar British family car, and the Army used it as a staff vehicle while District Nurses used it on their rounds. This car is blue outside and blue inside, a plain pairing that leaves the timber frame as the feature that draws the eye. It has the 1,098cc engine the Traveller kept until production ended in April 1971. It seats four, and the rear doors open in two halves, which makes a neat frame for a shot. In front of a camera, the visible woodwork and split doors place it at once in mid-century Britain. That suits period film and television, photography, and fashion or editorial shoots. Its small, upright shape also works as a display piece at events, and it suits a wedding or a personal hire. The car is based in London.
