2001 Lotus Elise S2 | Coventry, Warwickshire

A 2001 Lotus Elise S2, the second generation of Lotus's lightweight mid-engined roadster. It is known for unassisted steering with a direct feel and a bonded aluminium chassis that keeps the weight low, so it feels alert from the first corner. This car is blue with a blue interior, a single-colour scheme that reads cleanly on camera. Its 1.8-litre engine sits behind the two seats, and the body is low and compact, leaving the location visible around it. With the roof off, driver and passenger are in clear view. The low, open shape suits advertising, photography and music videos, and the solid blue gives fashion and editorial shoots a clean block of colour. Film and TV productions set in the 2000s have a British sports car of the period to hand. It also works for a wedding arrival or a birthday outing. The car is based in Coventry, Warwickshire.
