About this vehicle
1982 Honda CX500 Turbo | Boxford, Suffolk
The Honda CX500 Turbo is a fully faired sport tourer with a turbocharged V-twin and shaft drive. It came from the early-1980s race among Japanese makers to put turbos on production bikes. It is known for its programmed fuel injection, gold-coloured ComStar wheels and large TURBO lettering on the exhaust. This 1982 example is finished in pearl-white, with retro graphics on the fairings and a white seat and cockpit trim to match. It is in very good condition. The smooth fairing and integrated indicators give a clean outline that reads well from any angle. The turbocharger whistles as boost builds, and the bike appeared on screen as the getaway machine in Criminal Record. Film and television work needing a visibly early-1980s motorcycle gets a clear period marker in that fairing and lettering. Photographers, fashion and editorial stylists and music video crews have a pale, sculpted shape against any backdrop, and events can use it as a retro-futuristic centrepiece. It also makes a talking point at a wedding or a personal hire. The bike is based in Suffolk.
