1975 Ford Cortina | London

A 1975 Ford Cortina, from the facelifted Mark III generation that made coke-bottle styling a familiar sight on British streets. It is a rear-wheel-drive family saloon, wide and sculpted, and the Cortina became one of Britain's defining everyday cars of the 1970s. By 1975 the dashboard had been revised to a flatter design. This car is brown outside and brown inside, a matched scheme that places the decade at once. It is in excellent condition, with a 2500cc engine under the bonnet. It seats three, an unusual count for a saloon. On camera, the colour and body give film and TV productions a 1970s street scene without set dressing. Fashion shoots and music videos get a warm, earthy backdrop, and photographers have broad, flat-sided panels to frame against. Weddings and personal hires are welcome too. The car is based in London.
