About this vehicle
1944 Dodge WC51 | Salisbury, Hampshire
A 1944 Dodge WC51, an American weapons carrier from the Second World War. Its upright, workmanlike shape and green paint look right on any wartime set. This one is known as Old Harry, and it saw service in the war. It is green with a green interior, in very good condition, with a winch on the front and room for ten. It is left-hand drive: the driver sits on the kerb side, so the front passenger steps out on the road side. Military Vehicle Magazine put it on the cover of its 300th edition, with a five-page article inside. It can be hired plain, or dressed with period accessories: ammo boxes, jerry cans, ration crates, helmets, webbing and a camouflage net. A well-made replica Browning M2 .50 cal machine gun can be fitted as well. That gives film and TV, music video, photography and advertising crews a wartime scene ready to shoot, and events a strong centrepiece. A wedding or personal hire with a military theme works too. It is based in Salisbury, Hampshire.
