About this vehicle
1959 Dodge Royal Sedan | North Lanarkshire
The Dodge Royal was a full-size American car built from 1954 to 1959, liked for its V8 power and the big, chrome-trimmed styling of the decade. A yellow Royal convertible paced the 1954 Indianapolis 500, which gave the name its racing link. This 1959 car is finished in pastel pink with a black interior, a soft body colour set against a dark cabin. Tall tailfins, sweeping flanks and plenty of polished chrome catch the light from every angle. The 5900cc engine gives a deep rumble, and the cabin seats four. It is left-hand drive: the driver sits on the kerb side, so the front passenger steps out on the road side. Condition is excellent. The colour and period lines read clearly in fashion and editorial photography, music videos and advertising, and they set a 1950s scene for film and TV. Weddings and personal hires get the same retro look. The car is based in Glasgow, North Lanarkshire.
