1999 BMW MZ Coupe | Scaldwell, Northamptonshire

The BMW Z3 M Coupe is a compact two-seat performance coupe with a fixed roof and a tall rear hatch. That shape earned it the affectionate nickname "clown shoe". Enthusiasts like it for its flared rear arches, quad exhausts and straight-six engine. This 1999 car is finished in blue with a black interior. Its 3.2-litre engine sits under a long bonnet, ahead of a cabin that seats a driver and one passenger. The dark interior gives a tidy backdrop for close shots of whoever is at the wheel. The hatch profile and quad exhausts reward close-up photography, while the flared rear arches give advertising and fashion shoots a strong side-on shape. Its late-1990s looks suit period film and TV, music videos and event displays. A couple arriving at a wedding, or someone marking a birthday, gets a car with real presence. It is based in Northamptonshire.
