1971 Austin Wood and Pickett Mini | Cardiff

Wood & Pickett tailored classic Minis to each customer's taste, with touches such as walnut dashboards, leather trim and reshaped bodywork. Its Margrave luxury conversions, built in response to Radford's Mini de Ville, brought the firm attention in the 1960s and 1970s. No two cars need be the same, which gives these Minis a made-to-measure character. This 1971 Austin is grey with a black interior and is in excellent condition. Its 1275cc engine sits under a short bonnet, and the compact body leaves plenty of room in shot for the location. The calm grey paint is a quiet backdrop, which lets clothes or products lead in advertising, photography and fashion and editorial work. Its small, period shape also reads clearly in 1970s-set film and TV and music video, and it slots easily into a street scene or an event. It makes a characterful arrival for a wedding or personal hire too. The car is based in Cardiff.
