About this vehicle
1954 Austin Somerset | Eastbourne, East Sussex
A 1954 Austin Somerset, the A40-based two-door convertible that Austin marketed as the Somerset Coupé. Its body was built by Carbodies of Coventry. The hood has three positions: closed, fully down, or folded back over the front seats only. This car is green with a green interior and is in excellent condition. It seats four, so a small group can sit together in shot. The hood settings let a shoot choose between a closed roofline, a fully open car or something in between. The rounded early-1950s body gives a clear period look. That suits period advertising, 1950s film and TV, photography, and fashion and editorial work, where the colour and soft lines carry the frame. Music videos and events can use the open top to keep passengers in clear view. A wedding or personal hire gets the same open-top charm. The car is based in Eastbourne, East Sussex.
