1985 Volkswagen Jetta CL | Salisbury, Wiltshire

A 1985 Volkswagen Jetta CL, the Golf's compact format with a separate boot added behind. The model is known as a practical, restrained family saloon, with generous luggage space for its size and plain, upright 1980s styling. This car is Beige with a Cream interior, a soft, period pairing that photographs warmly in daylight. The 1.6-litre petrol engine and CL trim mark it out as an everyday car of its time, and it has room for five. It suits period film and television scenes set in the 1980s, where an ordinary European family saloon is the right backdrop. Photographers and stylists get a muted palette that sits quietly behind clothing and products, and events can use it as a period arrival car. A wedding or personal hire gets an understated, vintage-flavoured car. The car is based in Salisbury, Wiltshire.
