1978 Volkswagen Camper Van | Maidenhead, Berkshire

A 1978 Volkswagen Camper Van, from the Type 2 family known for its friendly, upright shape and its link to the road-trip culture of the 1960s and 1970s. Vans of this period have the wide, curved bay windscreen, and the engine sits at the rear. This one is finished in grey with a red interior, a calm, understated pairing for a camper. It has a 2.0-litre petrol engine, and the cabin seats four. The tall, boxy body and large areas of glass leave room in shot for the scene around it. Advertising and photography suit it, since the van can carry a brand or a location without crowding it. Its 1970s look also works for period film, TV and music video, and for fashion, editorial and event backdrops. It makes a characterful wedding or personal hire too. It is based in Maidenhead, Berkshire.
