1986 Toyota Corolla | Newry, County Down

A 1986 Toyota Corolla, from the line of compact Japanese family cars that became the world's best-selling nameplate in 1997. The model is known as everyday transport rather than a showpiece, which is why a well-kept 1980s example reads so naturally as period. This car is in excellent condition, finished in a glossy red with a black interior. The cabin seats four and keeps the plain, analogue feel of the decade, and the 1600cc engine gives it a simple, hands-on drive. Film and TV productions set in the 1980s or 1990s get an ordinary family car that fits the decade without comment. The bright paintwork stands out in photography, fashion and editorial work and in music videos, while retro-themed events can use it as a colourful feature. For weddings and special days it adds period character in vivid red. It is based in Newry, County Down.
