About this vehicle
1971 Range Rover Classic | Droitwich Spa, Worcestershire
The Range Rover arrived in 1970 with coil springs, a V8 and permanent four-wheel drive, comfortable on the road and capable off it. This is a 1971 car, an early "Suffix A" model, with its square, upright shape intact. The plain lines were admired enough for the Louvre to exhibit the original model as industrial design. This one is gold outside and gold inside, a single warm colour that holds together well in frame. It is in restoration and complete: it rolls and steers, but it does not run under its own power and is not road legal, so it works as a static piece and moves by trailer. The cabin keeps a plain 1970s layout, and it seats four. As a backdrop it gives fashion and editorial shoots a bold gold against country settings, and period film and TV a simple early-seventies 4x4. Private estates, closed sets and static displays at events or brand activations suit it, and a countryside wedding can use it as scenery. It is based in Droitwich Spa, Worcestershire.
