Description

1986 Volvo 240 Saloon | London Step back into the heart of the 1980s with this iconic 1986 Volvo 240 Saloon, a vehicle that perfectly defines the "boxy but beautiful" aesthetic. With its unmistakable silhouette and legendary Swedish durability, this vibrant red classic offers an authentic slice of automotive history that commands attention through its understated, cult-status cool. Whether it’s cruising through the streets of London or serving as a graphic centerpiece for a high-fashion editorial, the car projects a versatile vibe that ranges from gritty urban realism to nostalgic suburban warmth. Its spacious five-seat cabin and smooth 2.3L engine, paired with an effortless automatic gearbox, ensure a comfortable and relaxed experience whether you are behind the wheel or being chauffeured. For film and television productions, this Volvo is the quintessential period-correct workhorse, ideal for capturing the authentic atmosphere of the mid-80s through to the late-90s. Its sharp lines and vibrant hue make it a standout choice for photography shoots, while its sturdy, dependable character offers a unique and memorable alternative for weddings and personal driving experiences. This is more than just a car; it is a timeless design statement, ready to bring a touch of vintage Scandinavian sophistication to your next project or celebration. She currently sits on slight lowering springs to improve stance and handling, and has a period correct Bluetooth radio. While she does show her age with some minor lacquer peel, oxidisation in the paint and a little rust, she’s charming anyway. Much of her age is easily edited in photographs. Improvements are always being made to the car and repairs done to original features often (now has working central locking)! She has working heating, starts on the button, and plenty of boot space. She has already been featured in a music video and driven through London for the day, and in a short film (release 03/2026) driven from London to Surrey and back.
