Introducing Leroy, a first generation Volkswagen Golf born 1st December 1982 in Wolfsburg and sold to a Londoner that same year. Styled by Giorgetto Giugiaro, Leroy is a beautiful example of the iconic successor to the Volkswagen Beetle. The first generation Golf was a staple fixture on British roads throughout the late 70's and 80's. A beautifully simple design made for your average man or woman to roam the roads and by 1983 Volkswagen had sold over 5million. Leroy is one of very few Gold edition first generation golfs. Completely untouched and looking the same as the day she rolled off the production line. A GL (Second in the range to a GTI) so a high spec edition with a 1.5, 8v, 70 horsepower engine and beautiful beige/brown cloth interior. It’s a beautiful car that I take a lot of pride in owning ... and using, she has a few minor dings but generally in very very good condition.
