1989 BMW 525 E34 | Fobbing, Essex

A 1989 BMW E34 5 Series, the executive saloon known for its restrained styling, rear-wheel drive and smooth six-cylinder engines. This one is a 530i with a 3.0-litre petrol engine, and its clean, formal lines sit squarely in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The car is finished in alpine white over a black interior, in excellent condition. The quad-headlight front end gives the nose a wide, businesslike look, and the dashboard is angled towards the driver in the BMW manner of the period. Against the dark cabin, the white bodywork gives a photographer a strong, simple contrast. That contrast suits fashion and editorial shoots, while the upright saloon profile reads as executive transport in film and TV set in the late 1980s or 1990s. It also works for advertising and music video with a period feel. Weddings and personal hires get a smart, understated alternative to the usual choices. The car is based in London and Essex.
