About this vehicle
1979 Albion LH463 | London
A 1979 Lada 1300, the Soviet-built saloon that became the first Lada on sale in Britain, from 1974. It was made under licence from Fiat's 124 and pitched as a no-frills budget car, which gives it a modest, everyday charm. Its square-shouldered shape looks every inch a 1970s European saloon. This one is green with a brown interior and is in excellent condition. It is left-hand drive: the driver sits on the kerb side and the front passenger steps out into the road, which also gives the car a continental look in shot. Period film and TV can use it to set a 1970s Eastern European or continental scene. Its upright body and muted green and brown give advertising, photography and fashion and editorial work a soft, vintage backdrop. Flat sides and plain lines keep music videos and events clean and distinct. A couple wanting something unexpected for a wedding will find it a characterful choice. It is based in London.
